test run

a few test pieces made from Keraflex, the porcelain sheeting, in both thicknesses of .5mm and 1mm. The former while proving to be translucent was much to thin to consider using. The thicker is sturdier while still retaining some of the translucency and also holds its shapes during firing. Doing these test pieces has been invaluable as it not only has given me an idea of what joining methods work but also that the pieces will need to be supported during firing to prevent slumping.

a bit of a sideline act, these wall mounted holders for tillandsias (air plants) were initiated by the bazaar fact that many young men have never seen a woman's public hair. this is a celebration of the bush.
